Top Fives

Kent Jackson recently made a post on Top 5 Fringe Seinfeld Characters over on his and Dana’s blog. I actually lost sleep trying to put together my top 5, and I’m not entirely satisfied with it. I liked the idea so much that I’m going to steal it and start my own list: Top 5 Movies Wholly or Partially About the 1970s. Here’s mine:

1) Boogie Nights
2) Casino
3) Dazed and Confused
4) Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
5) Blow

Not a great list, but maybe it’ll get some discussion going. Lynn, Kent and Dana—a.k.a. the only three people who read this—leave yours in the comments

I can't even be mad you "stole" the idea because I did too from John Cusack. Sorry you lost sleep, but rest assured that you made me smack my own forehead when I read "Jackie Chiles," good one. And if Bookman had been on more than one episode, he would have given Frank a run for #1. He was awesome.

My response to your 5:
1. Dazed and Confused: it comes to my mind any time I picture what the 70s was like.
2. Almost Famous: I am a Golden God!
3. Casino: you hear that guy's eye pop when his head is in the vice...probably the most effective use of violence in any movie.
4. Donnie Brasco: "This is Donnie, he's a friend of ours."
5. The Virgin Suicides: Josh Hartnett abandons Kirsten Dunst in the middle of the night...and they both go onto mediocre careers.

Of course Anchorman belongs on the list, but then I'd just be re-writing your list: a direct violation of the spirit of the Top 5.

Ben sometimes you and Lynn forget that occassionally Nathan and I venture onto this site...so when I read all these posts about how only a select few are enjoying your lives I feel a little left out. Lovee.
